Milano d'Autore

Not just finance and business. Milan is the capital of design, fashion, art and technology, a city with a cosmopolitan nature, protagonist in dictating style and trends. In a strange twist of fate, it seems that all the aspects of human creativity have arranged to meet up in Milan to give free rein to their own essence!
Milan is a city to be lived in every moment of the day: during the morning, after a delicious breakfast enjoyed in one of the historic cafés of the city, it is possible to admire many monuments, art exhibitions and museums; during the afternoon, do not miss the opportunity to have shopping along the so called "quadrilatero della moda" (quadrilateral of fashion) - via Monte Napoleone, Corso Venezia, via Sant'Andrea and via della Spiga -, the high-class shopping district of Milan's centre. Finally, in the night, after an aperitif, you can choose among restaurants, pubs, discos and bars.
Not to be missed: the Duomo, with its Gothic towers and windows, the Galleria Vittorio Emanule, the city's elegant living room, the Teatro alla Scala, Brera Art gallery, set in district that has always been a meeting point for artists, Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper, in the cloister of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Navigli district, Castello Sforzesco, the Basilica of St. Ambrose and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.
There are many restaurants offering ethnic and regional cuisine in Milan; however it is still possible to enjoy typical dishes of the Ambrosian culinary tradition, such as the "cassoeula", risotto with saffron, the "busecca" (stewed tripe), the "ossi buchi", "mondeghili", "vitel tonné", "cotoletta alla milanese" or "fritto misto alla milanese". During the Christmas period you cannot miss a slice of panettone, Milan's cake par excellence, still prepared with the same recipe of 500 years ago.
